cats and crafts

During a bad storm, we live in the rural part of Texas, and some feral cats showed up; one had a snake bite. My husband wasn't convinced at first, but as we cared for these cats, we grew closer through our shared effort, showing how caring for animals can strengthen bonds. We became a safe space for ferals, as the rural area we live in unfortunately has people who dump animals. We set out to feed them, and to help, I started using the crafting I had loved to fund my love of cats, and in doing so, I hooked my husband, and now he loves them as much as I do.

A habit is formed

What began as a therapeutic release turned into an addiction. It started with a baby's toy as a goof and turned into a way to express my artistic itch. The joy of seeing a finished product was intoxicating. Sharing this journey can inspire others to find their own creative outlets and feel motivated to explore new passions.

November 2023

First show

With joy in my heart and a car brimming with my cherished plushies, I dove into my first outdoor event! It was such a wonderful experience that opened my eyes to the joy of crafting these treasures. Seeing the smiles and positive energy at the event inspired me to keep creating and sharing my passion with others. It also strengthened our commitment to cats by finding ways to incorporate them into our lives, including homing feral cats to forever homes!!!

Landscape changes

I've noticed a shift in the yarn market lately, with fewer vendors and limited options available. Living in a bustling city usually means quick access to major chain stores for my favorite yarn, so this scarcity has been a bit of a surprise. As someone passionate about this hobby, it's tough when I can’t find the perfect material. However, this challenge has inspired me to rethink our approach, especially since we’re dedicated to helping feral cats. This experience has also revealed an opportunity in the market, as many products seem overpriced for their quality. I’m excited to explore new paths and contribute to a more affordable and vibrant yarn community!

Planting the seed

Crocheting is life, and yarn is a part of that, so my husband and I did our research on how to source our own yarn. Something we would buy, so I would have a source of my own yarn and not have to depend on what was on the market. We wanted a quality product at a price that isn't outrageous. After reviewing multiple vendors, we found a few that met the standards I expected, and we ordered some.

Yarn is ALIVE

Simple times, we sourced our yarn and received our first Big shipment! Now we share with the world!!! The goal was to provide a high-quality yarn from someone who uses yarn and understands that everyone is different, but in yarn, there are a few constants: feel, durability, and the right colors. We have a checkmark on all 3 of those standards.
